PR for [Gecko bug 1359658](https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1359658)
When an element has a display:none ancestor we don't traverse it during
restyle. However, at the end of restyling we expect the tree to be free
of dirty bits. We currently take special care to clear the regular
(non-animation) dirty bit on nodes in display:none subtrees in order to
preserve this invariant. This patch applies the same handling to the
animation-only dirty descendants bit.

<!-- Please describe your changes on the following line: -->
Before this PR, every object reflected in CSSOM is in `Arc<RwLock<_>>` to enable safe (synchronized) mutable aliasing. Acquiring all these locks has significant cost during selector matching:
* https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1311469
* https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1335941
* https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1339703
This PR introduce a mechanism to protect many objects with the same `RwLock` that only needs to be acquired once.
In Stylo, there is one such lock per process (in a `lazy_static`), used for everything.
I non-Stylo Servo, I originally intended to have one such lock per document (for author-origin stylesheets, and one per process for user-agent and user sytlesheets since they’re shared across documents, and never mutated anyway). However I failed to have the same document-specific (or pipeline-specific) `Arc` reachable from both `Document` nodes and `LayoutThread`. Recursively following callers lead me to include this `Arc` in `UnprivilegedPipelineContent`, but that needs to be serializable. So there is a second process-wide lock.
This was previously #15998, closed accidentally.

The primary idea of this patch is to ditch the rigid enum of Previous/Current
styles, and replace it with a series of indicators for the various types of
work that needs to be performed (expanding snapshots, rematching, recascading,
and damage processing). This loses us a little bit of sanity checking (since
the up-to-date-ness of our style is no longer baked into the type system), but
gives us a lot more flexibility that we'll need going forward (especially when
we separate matching from cascading). We also eliminate get_styling_mode in
favor of a method on the traversal.
This patch does a few other things as ridealongs:
* Temporarily eliminates the handling for transfering ownership of styles to the
frame. We'll need this again at some point, but for now it's causing too much
complexity for a half-implemented feature.
* Ditches TRestyleDamage, which is no longer necessary post-crate-merge, and is
a constant source of compilation failures from either needing to be imported
or being unnecessarily imported (which varies between gecko and servo).
* Expands Snapshots for the traversal root, which was missing before.
* Fixes up the skip_root stuff to avoid visiting the skipped root.
* Unifies parallel traversal and avoids spawning for a single work item.
* Adds an explicit pre_traverse step do any pre-processing and determine whether
we need to traverse at all.

This patch introduces infrastructure for the rule tree, and constructs it.
We don't use it yet, nor have good heuristics for GC'ing it, but this should not
happen anymore once we store the rule node reference in the node.

<!-- Please describe your changes on the following line: -->
This PR fixes two different issues:
1) In non-incremental layout mode if the inline node hasn't changes - the style pass was skipped, that leads to the corresponding ConstructionResult was not produced. When the parent was rebuilt, the child without the ConstructionResult was omited.
2) When the opacity was changed (or other style change, causing only repaint) for image (and others, producing only ConstructionItem) the damage is calculated only from children's flows, not from individual fragments. So for now, let's pretend we've newly constructed the ConstructionItem and thus need to rebuild the parent's flow.

This commit adds hooks to the Servo style traversal to avoid traversing all the
DOM for every restyle. Additionally it changes the behavior of the dirty flag to
be propagated top down, to prevent extra overhead when an element is dirtied.
This commit doesn't aim to change the behavior on Servo just yet, since Servo does extra job when dirtying the node related with DOM revision counters that might be necessary.
CC @asajeffrey for the DOM revision counters stuff. When a node is dirty, do all its descendants really need to increment the revision counter, or is this an unintended effect? My intuition is that this is hurting performance quite a lot for servo.

Background:
The changes to Servo code to support Stylo began in the `selectors` crate with making pseudo-elements generic, defined be the user, so that different users (such as Servo and Gecko/Stylo) could have a different set of pseudo-elements supported and parsed. Adding a trait makes sense there since `selectors` is in its own repository and has others users (or at least [one](https://github.com/SimonSapin/kuchiki)).
Then we kind of kept going with the same pattern and added a bunch of traits in the `style` crate to make everything generic, allowing Servo and Gecko/Stylo to do things differently. But we’ve also added a `gecko` Cargo feature to do conditional compilation, at first to enable or disable some CSS properties and values in the Mako templates. Since we’re doing conditional compilation anyway, it’s often easier and simpler to do it more (with `#[cfg(feature = "gecko")]` and `#[cfg(feature = "servo")]`) that to keep adding traits and making everything generic. When a type is generic, any method that we want to call on it needs to be part of some trait.
----
The first several commits move some code around, mostly from `geckolib` to `style` (with `#[cfg(feature = "gecko")]`) but otherwise don’t change much.
The following commits remove some traits and many type parameters through the `style` crate, replacing them with pairs of conditionally-compiled API-compatible items (types, methods, …).
Simplifying code is nice to make it more maintainable, but this is motivated by another change described in https://github.com/servo/servo/pull/12391#issuecomment-232183942. (Porting Servo for that change proved difficult because some code in the `style` crate was becoming generic over `String` vs `Atom`, and this PR will help make that concrete. That change, in turn, is motivated by removing geckolib’s `[replace]` override for string-cache, in order to enable using a single Cargo "workspace" in this repository.)

As a follow-up, we could move all the data living under a mutex in the
SharedLayoutContext only in order to create the local context to the same place.
This should increase animation performance when there are multiple animations in
one page that happen to be on different threads.

This adds support for parsing `@keyframes` rules, and animation properties. Stylo will need it sometime soonish, plus I want to make animations work in Servo.
The remaining part is doin the math and trigger the animations correctly from servo. I don't expect it to be *that* hard, but probaby I'll need to learn a bit more about the current animation infra (e.g. why the heck is the `new_animations_sender` guarded by a `Mutex`?).
I'd expect to land this, since this is already a bunch of work, this is the part exclusively required by stylo (at least if we don't use Servo's machinery), the media query parsing is tested, and the properties land after a flag, but if you prefer to wait until I finish this up it's fine for me too.

The bulk of this is adding cargo features to make derived implementations of `heapsize` and `serde` traits optional.
"Almost" because `std::intrinsics::discriminant_value` is currently unstable and doesn’t have any stable replacement that I know of. For now, this PR conditionally replaces it with `unimplemented!()`.

Currently when traversing a the tree to restyle, we look at whether a
given element to restyle is the root. This seems to always be the root
of the entire document, since we start our processing from the top. If
the current element being restyled is the root of the restyle, then we
use None as the parent node for restyling purposes.
In stylo we want to invoke restyling starting from an arbitrary node in
the document, not just the root of the document, so this change looks
for the parent element regardless of whether we're at the root of the
restyle.

This is a work-in-progress that:
* Adds support for some pseudo-elements to skip the cascade entirely, in an analogous way to Gecko's anonymous box pseudo-elements.
* Takes rid of `StylistWrapper`, and uses `Arc::get_mut` instead.
* Uses the first bullet to precompute the `-servo-details-content` pseudo's style.
I'd like @bholley to take a look before following, do you think that the aproach is the correct?
Also, @SimonSapin could want to put some eyes on it.

This allows geckolib to pass gecko style structs and have the style system write to them directly, provided we implement all the traits.

Right now, there's a huge amount of complexity in T{Node,Element,Document} and friends because of the lifetime parameter.
Before I started generalizing this code for use by Gecko, these wrappers were plain structs. They had (and still have) a phantom lifetime associated with them to prevent references to DOM nodes from leaking past the end of restyle, when they might be invalidated by a GC.
When I generalized them, I decided to put the lifetime on the trait as well, since there are some situations where the lifetime is, in fact, necessary. Specifically, they are necessary for the compiler to understand that all the things borrowed from all the nodes and elements and so on have the same lifetime (the lifetime of the restyle), rather than the lifetime of whichever particular element or node pointer the value was borrowed from. This come up in situations where we do |let el = node.as_element()| or |let n = el.as_node()| and then borrow something from the result. The compiler thinks the borrow lifetime is that of |el| or |n|, when it's actually longer.
In practice though, I think the style and layout algorithms we use don't run into this issue much, and we can hack around it where it comes up. So I think we should remove the lifetimes from the traits, which will let us aggregate the embedding-provided traits together onto a single meta-trait and significantly simplify the code.

The wrapper stuff is partially-complete, modulo some unimplemented methods. The glue code is just a toy for now. Regardless, I think it's worth getting some of this stuff in-tree to minimize breakage.
