8374dcbda9 Fix bug 183313: work around a Flash crasher in ActivateTSMDocument. Flash caches the active TSMDocument across focus/blur calls in order to restore the old TSMDocument (because we asked them to). The problem is that it can cache a TSMDocument that is about to be deleted, especially in Cocoa where the TSMDocument management is somewhat asynchronous. We work around this by always clearing the active TSMDocument before focussing a plugin, for Cocoa. r=mento, sr=pinkerton. 2005-10-13 22:39:36 +00:00

2bddef83ba Improve the way in which nsEvent and its subclasses are initialized. Commonly-used members can now be initialized via an inline constructor, and all other members are initialized to zero. eventStructType is set automatically. This also fixes some cases where an eventStructType was doubling as a message -- NS_TEXT_EVENT is now only used as an eventStructType, with a message of NS_TEXT_TEXT. NS_COMPOSITION_* events get an eventStructType of NS_COMPOSITION_EVENT, and ditto for NS_RECONVERSION_*. NS_DRAGDROP_EVENT is no longer an eventStructType since it is not a unique type of struct. 476c30fdff Make sure that Init() failures for image frames don't mean no alt text. Also 
fixes a crasher when reframing fixed-pos frames.

This change adds an assertion in ConstructHTMLFrame that InitAndRestoreFrame
should succeed (unless it returns NS_ERROR_FRAME_REPLACED).  This is an interim
change; eventually we want to bail out on errors, but there may be frame impls
that return errors in non-error conditions from Init() (eg nsFrameSetFrame did
that) and we're a little close to freeze.

ca589fdb8d Generically enables the browser to cache the curent presentation (frames, 
views, et.al.) for Print Preview and then enables them to be restored.
It uses a pref and/or checks all the documents to see if any have an "embed" or
a "plugin". Temporarily it checks for framesets and turns on caching also.
I also factored some code in the Init routine so it could be callled for either
creating the new presention or initializing an existing one.
Also, added some safety check code in PrintPage.
Then for the object frame, for PP it doesn't do a paint - this is a temporary fix.

Make the line list doubly linked and access it through a list class and iterators.
Stop recomputing margins on all of the children of each block in the reflow chain (which causes O(N^2) state recovery during incremental reflow).  Instead, add a second dirty bit to the lines and walk backwards through the line list to recompute vertical margins only when either dirty bit is set and the previous line was not reflowed.  Add nsIFrame::IsEmpty to identify frames through which margins collapse.
Fix O(N^2) propagation of float damage by maintaining a set of intervals damaged by floats (bug 61962) and be sure to damage the correct areas (bug 48138).
Introduce nsCollapsingMargin to do correct collapsing of combinations of positive and negative margins (bug 50142).
Clean up some odds and ends and fix another smaller O(N^2) problem in nsBlockFrame::AddFrames.

Here's what I did to fix this bug.

I pestered Rick Potts about the problem of
nsIWebBrowserChrome->SetStatus() not being synchronous.  He fixed that
under bug 97227.

Taking advantage of Rick's fix to 97227, I modified
nsIPluginInstanceOwner to have new method, ShowStatus(const PRUnichar
*aStatusMsg).  This is necessary to allow for localized messages to be
posted from the plugin, such as "Starting plugin for type
application/x-java-vm" or "Beginnen steckbar f�r Art
application/x-java-vm".

I modified all the implementations of nsIPluginInstanceOwner:

  layout/html/base/src/nsObjectFrame.cpp
  modules/plugin/base/src/nsPluginViewer.cpp

I inserted a call to nsIPluginInstanceOwner->ShowStatus() at the part
just before the big "whole damn app freezes when starting java" thing
happens.

I also modifed nsJVMManager.cpp ShowJavaConsole() to do the same.  These
are the two places I know of now that can start java.
