f0953195ce Bug 1636998 - Make ::-moz-focus-outer a no-op, and remove it on Nightly. r=jwatt
See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=932410#c2 for the
context for which this pseudo-element was added.

In the previous patch, I had to special-case range appearance because of
this pseudo-class, but that patch makes this pseudo-class completely
redundant, as now all form controls, themed and unthemed, display
outlines, unless the native theme displays a focus indicator on its own.

Remove the special case, and make ranges use outlines like everything
else rather than this bespoke pseudo-element.

7a14870e23 Bug 1636998 - Only suppress auto-style outlines for widgets that paint their own focus indicator. r=jfkthame
Turns out we did have a hook for this already! But it is used to draw or
not inner button styles, so not quite equivalent.

I had to expand the amount of things it applies to because buttons and
such do paint focus indicators in all widgets. This patch could cause
some undesired outlines in some widgets. I hope not (I tried to audit to
the best of my knowledge), but in that case they'd be just more values
to add to the list.

173d001b86 Bug 1556556 - Propagate RelativeTo far and wide. r=kats, mattwoodrow
This "upgrades" various nsLayoutUtils functions which take as inputs
a set of coordinates and a frame that the coordinates are relative to,
to accept a RelativeTo object instead of a frame.

Most of the patch is just dumb propagation, but the few places where
we use an explicit ViewportType::Visual are important. There are
probably a few other places I've overlooked, but this seems to cover
the important ones that come up commonly.

There are undoubtedly other functions into which we can propagate
RelativeTo, in this patch I've propagated it as far as necessary
for my needs in this bug (mainly GetTransformToAncestor() and
GetEventCoordinatesRelativeTo()).

a214514a58 Bug 1624080 - Simplify the implementation of HasAuthorSpecifiedRules. r=heycam
This patch computes the author-specified properties during the CSS cascade, and
removes the complex rule-tree-based implementation that tries to do the cascade
again.

This changes behavior in two ways, one of them which is not observable to
content, I believe:

 * revert now re-enables the native styling. This was brought up in
   https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/4777 and I think it is a bug-fix.

This is observable to content, and I'm adding a test for it.

 * We don't look at inherited styles from our ancestors when `inherit` is
specified in a non-author stylesheet. This was introduced for bug 452969 but
we don't seem to inherit background anymore for file controls or such. It
seems back then file controls used to have a text-field.

I audited forms.css and ua.css and we don't explicitly inherit
padding / border / background-color into any nested form control.

We keep the distinction between border/background and padding, because the later
has some callers. I think we should try to align with Chromium in the long run
and remove the padding bit.

We need to give an appearance to the range-thumb and such so that we can assert
that we don't call HasAuthorSpecifiedRules on non-themed stuff. I used a new
internal value for that.

11ea945833 Bug 1546697 - Use a consistent style for enum classes in layout. r=dholbert
Per the discussion in:

  https://groups.google.com/d/msg/mozilla.dev.platform/P79pwa9z5m8/iPYPAWPHCAAJ

They should be CamelCase, and that's what most of them already do. This converts
the rest, which are a few.

For the ones that already used `e` or `k` prefixes, I've mostly done:

 for file in $(rg Type::e layout | cut -d : -f 1 | sort | uniq); do sed -i 's#Type::e#Type::#g' $file; done

For the ones that used uppercase, I've removed the prefix if it was already in
the type name, and turn them into CamelCase.

This patch moves some `enum` in `nsIPresShell` which are in public scope into

Unfortunately, only "where to scroll" enum is just defines constants of

as `static const`.

Additionally, this patch makes `nsFrame.h` stop including `nsIPresShell.h`
and makes each users include `mozilla/PresShell.h` instead. So, this improves
rebuild performance of `nsIPresShell.h` (and `mozilla/PresShell.h` in the

Note that due to `nsIFrame::PresShell()`, `mozilla::` prefix is necessary for
`PresShell` in a lot of classes which are derived from `nsIFrame` even in

`*Inlines.h` shouldn't be included by another header file, but `nsPresContext.h`

Summary: Really sorry for the size of the patch. It's mostly automatic

Overall it's not a very interesting patch I think.

nsDocument.cpp turns into Document.cpp, nsIDocument.h into Document.h and
nsIDocumentInlines.h into DocumentInlines.h.

I also changed a bunch of nsCOMPtr usage to RefPtr, but not all of it.

While fixing up some of the bits I also removed some unneeded OwnerDoc() null

505d7f9d3c Bug 1317870 - Make intrinsic sizing for <input type=range> work properly and make its default margin/padding compatible with Chrome/Safari. r=jwatt 2018-11-15 20:47:33 +01:00

977a22a9c2 Bug 1481593 - Make <input type=range> layout more compatible with WebKit/Blink. r=jwatt
In particular:
-webkit-appearance:none inhibits the range track.
An author-specified 'border' or 'background' does NOT disable the theme.
The default non-themed background-color is opaque.

2f64c0934b Bug 893331 - Relax assert checking if value is within range for nsRangeFrame. r=TYLin
GetValueAsFractionOfRange asserts that input == minimum if the range has maximum
<= minimum. This assert is sane at face value, but floating point rounding
issues can cause it to be triggered when input is essentially minimum.

This changeset relaxes the assertion to check the input is within an epsilon
value of minimum.

b099eab802 Bug 1488684 - Made nsIFrame-derived classes and some others 'final' where possible - r=dbaron
All classes deriving from nsIFrame that did not have any subclasses themselves
(at the time of writing this patch) have been marked with `final`.
Some other Layout classes have also been made final, but this was opportunistic
while working on nsIFrame subclasses, and is definitely not exhaustive, further
patches welcome; refer to bug 1332680.

Advantages of marking a class final include:
- Allowing the compiler to devirtualize some method calls (i.e., calling
virtual functions directly instead of going through the vtable),
- Indicating that the class is not currently subclassed,
- Preventing subclassing without being aware that this would remove the
finalization benefits of the parent class.
`final` does not signify that these classes should *never* be subclassed, this
is left for developers to decide.

0878eb4d7e Bug 1483394: Remove unneeded #includes of nsContentUtils.h in /layout. r=TYLin
For each file touched in this patch, the file had an #include for nsContentUtils.h, but no other mentions of the string "nsContentUtils", nor any mention of its "ScriptBlocker"-related types. So these files likely don't need their nsContentUtils.h include anymore, and we can remove it to get a marginal win on build time/complexity.

517256e365 Bug 1478391: Autogenerate StyleAppearance. r=jwatt
This builds on bug 1428676 and introduces StyleAppearance, which replaces the
NS_THEME_* constants.

Really sorry for the size of the patch.

There's a non-trivial change in the gtk theme, which I submitted separately as
bug 1478385.
